ADHD Scot is a free, independent information resource for people in Scotland navigating ADHD and autism assessment. The provider directory lists private assessment services so that people can make informed comparisons.

We do not rank, recommend, or take payment from any provider. Listings are presented neutrally: we show what each service offers and let people decide what is right for them.

Who can be listed

The directory is open to services that meet all three of the following criteria.

Scottish-based services

Services with at least one in-person location in Scotland, or online-only services that accept clients based in Scotland.

ADHD or autism assessments

Services offering private diagnostic assessment for ADHD, autism, or combined ADHD/autism, for adults, children, or both.

Regulated clinicians

Assessment led by clinicians registered with a recognised regulator: GMC, NMC, HCPC, or equivalent. We show regulator information on every listing.

We reserve the right to decline or remove listings that we cannot verify or that do not meet these criteria. Listings are not an endorsement.

Information we will ask for

The more detail you provide, the more useful your listing. Fields marked Required must be completed to be listed.

Completeness affects where you appear. The directory's default view lists the most complete entries first, and the small featured selection on our home page is drawn from the most complete listings, so filling in prices, wait times, clinician details and credentials genuinely helps people find you. This rewards information, not payment: no provider pays for position, and the number of assessment types you offer makes no difference, so a specialist single-service clinic with a full listing ranks just as well as a larger one.

Service details

• Required, Service / clinic name. The name as it should appear in the directory, e.g. "Clarity Neurodevelopmental Clinic" or "Dr Morag Henderson, Consultant Psychiatrist".
• Required, Website URL. Your main website where people can read about your service and make enquiries.
• Required, Email address. The address patients should use for general enquiries. This is shown publicly on your listing.
• Phone number. Optional, but shown on your listing if provided. Include the area code.
• Required, Provider type. Choose the most accurate: Independent Clinic (a registered clinic with premises), Independent Medical Agency / IMA (a network of clinicians delivering services under one organisation), or Individual Practitioner (a single clinician operating independently).
• HIS registration status. Healthcare Improvement Scotland (HIS) is the independent regulator of private healthcare in Scotland. We show whether your service is registered, has an application in progress, or is not yet registered. HIS registration involves inspection and is a significant quality marker.
• Payment options. e.g. self-pay (bank transfer, card), insurance accepted, interest-free instalment plans.
• Waiting list status. Are you currently accepting new referrals? Open means yes; Closed means the list is currently paused. Please update us when this changes, it is one of the most important things people check.

Location and delivery

• Required, Delivery method. Whether you offer assessments online, in-person, or both.
• In-person location(s). The city or town where your clinic is based. Used in search filtering and shown on the map.
• Full address. Used to place a pin on the Scotland map. Not shown as a standalone field.
• Accessibility provisions. Any provisions for people with sensory or communication needs, e.g. longer appointments, written communication preferred, BSL interpretation, step-free access.

Assessments offered and costs

• Required, Assessment types offered. Confirm Yes or No for each: Adult ADHD · Child ADHD · Adult autism · Child autism · Adult combined ADHD/autism · Child combined ADHD/autism.
• Cost per assessment type (£). The total cost of a full diagnostic assessment for each type you offer. Costs are one of the most-searched fields on the directory.
• Follow-up appointment cost. The cost of a post-diagnosis results appointment, if charged separately from the assessment.
• Private prescription fee. If you prescribe, what do you charge per prescription? CD and NCD fees are often different, please specify both if applicable.
• Typical wait time (weeks). The approximate number of weeks from enquiry to assessment, for ADHD and autism separately. Give your honest current typical figure, out-of-date information is harmful to the people relying on it.
• Report turnaround time. How long after the assessment it typically takes to receive the written diagnostic report, e.g. "2–4 weeks".

Post-diagnosis support

• Prescribing available. Can your clinicians write private prescriptions for ADHD medication following diagnosis?
• Medication titration and ongoing prescribing. Do you support patients through the titration process and continue prescribing beyond the initial prescription?
• Shared care support. Do you actively support patients in establishing shared care with their GP, including providing the necessary documentation?
• GP notification letter. Do you send a formal letter to the patient's GP following diagnosis?
• Validated tools and collateral history. Does your assessment routinely include standardised diagnostic tools (e.g. Conners, DIVA, ADOS-2, ADI-R, RAADS-R) and collateral information from someone who knows the patient well?
• Uses CAT-Q. Does your assessment use the CAT-Q (Camouflaging Autistic Traits Questionnaire)? This tool specifically measures masking and camouflaging of autistic traits. It is particularly relevant for women, girls, and adults who were missed by standard screening tools earlier in life. Yes or No.

Clinician information

• Required, Lead clinician name(s) and role(s). The name and professional title of the clinician(s) who lead assessments, e.g. "Dr Jane Smith, Consultant Psychiatrist".
• Required, Lead clinician professional regulator. The regulatory body your lead clinician is registered with: GMC (doctors and psychiatrists), NMC (nurse prescribers), HCPC (psychologists and OTs), or BPS.
• Full clinical team. A brief description of everyone involved in your assessments.
• Psychiatrist-led. Is the assessment led by a consultant psychiatrist or associate specialist in psychiatry?
• Late-diagnosed / AFAB experience. Does your service have specific experience with adults who were not diagnosed in childhood, or with people assigned female at birth?
