What ADHD Scot is

ADHD Scot is an independent personal project run by one individual based in Scotland. It is not a company, charity, or registered organisation. For contact details, see the Contact page.

The site is hosted on Cloudflare's network. Content is stored in a private GitHub repository and edited directly via version control.

What data we collect

Contact form

When you use the contact form on this site, you provide your name, email address, and message. This information is submitted via Web3Forms (a third-party form processing service) and delivered to our email inbox. Web3Forms acts as a data processor on our behalf. Their privacy policy is at web3forms.com/privacy.

We use your contact information only to respond to your message. We do not add you to any mailing list, share your details with third parties, or use them for any other purpose.

If you prefer, you can also contact us directly by email at hello@adhdscot.co.uk without using the form.

Interactive tools

The interactive tools on this site, the ADHD self-screener (ASRS-v1.1), the autism screener, the CAT-Q, and the WFIRS tools, run entirely in your browser. Nothing you enter is stored, transmitted, or sent anywhere. When you close or refresh the page, all responses are gone.

Preferences stored on your device

The site stores two things in your browser's local storage: your light/dark theme preference, and, if you use the save feature on the provider comparison page, the list of providers you have saved. This information stays on your device, is never transmitted to us or anyone else, and you can clear it at any time through your browser settings.

Data collected automatically

Cloudflare: The site is served through Cloudflare's network. Cloudflare may process your IP address and request metadata as part of delivering the site and providing security. Cloudflare's privacy policy applies: cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.

No analytics: ADHD Scot does not use Google Analytics, Plausible, Fathom, or any other analytics or tracking service. We do not track which pages you visit, how long you spend on the site, or where you came from.

Aggregate link counts: On the provider comparison page, when you click a provider's website link we count that click in aggregate (a daily total per provider). No IP address, cookie, or any information about you is stored, only the running total. We use these totals to understand which listings people find useful.

Fonts: All fonts on this site are self-hosted. No requests are made to Google Fonts or any other third-party font service.

No advertising: There are no advertising networks or ad tracking pixels on this site.

Lived-experience quotes on this site

Some pages (such as What people told us) feature short quotes describing people's experiences of ADHD and autism assessment in Scotland. These are drawn from comments people posted publicly, for example on social media and public forums, in response to our work.

We take care to protect the people behind them:

• We anonymise every quote. We never publish names, usernames, handles, profile links, or any detail that could identify the person.
• We paraphrase rather than reproduce quotes word for word, so they cannot be searched back to the original post.
• We only use comments that people shared publicly themselves.
• Quotes are clearly presented as individual accounts, and are kept separate from our verified Freedom of Information data.

Because ADHD and autism are health-related, these comments count as "special category" data. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)), illustrating the real impact of NHS waiting times in Scotland, together with Article 9(2)(e), which covers personal data that the individual has manifestly made public.

If one of these quotes is yours and you would like it removed, email hello@adhdscot.co.uk and we will take it down promptly, no questions asked.

Cookies

This site does not set any cookies of its own. Cloudflare may set a technical security cookie. No tracking, advertising, or preference cookies are used.

Legal basis for processing

Where we process personal data:

• Contact form submissions: legitimate interests, responding to enquiries made to us voluntarily.
• Publicly-posted lived-experience comments: legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)), together with Article 9(2)(e) for the special category (health) element, as described above.

Your rights under UK GDPR

You have the right to:

• Access any personal data we hold about you
• Erasure of any personal data we hold about you (the right to be forgotten)
• Rectification of inaccurate personal data
• Restriction of or objection to processing

Because the only personal data we may hold is the content of messages you have sent us, these rights are straightforward to exercise. Email hello@adhdscot.co.uk to make a request.

Complaints

If you have a concern about how we have handled your data, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Third-party links

This site links to external websites including NHS Inform, NICE, GOV.UK, and various charities and professional bodies. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites.

Changes to this policy
